BOOK REVIEW IN ALL STATES IN NIGERIA VARIES
the ministry of education in each state in Nigeria has different modules operandi in book review exercise; ranging from the amount of money you will pay as a book publisher, book author or book writer, the number of copies you will submit to them for review (usually 4 to 6 copies per title), to the date of the review exercise.
YOU WILL PAY CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THE PROCESS
Every state ministry of education in Nigeria has special costing for the book review exercise. Some states will give their costing for 10, 25, 50 and 100 upwards, while some will give costing for 25 and 75 upwards etc. in this case the state ministry of education will clearly state the costing when publicizing the commencement of their book review exercise.
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BOOKS ARE NERDC COMPLIANT (National Education Resource Center).
This is very important especially if your books are text books. NERDC is the national curriculum from the federal ministry of education. however, it is required that your books are written inline with this curriculum. though additions are tolerated but less won’t be tolerated.
BOOK REVIEW IS DONE AFTER EVERY FOUR YEARS
The last book review in Nigeria was conducted this year (2021) in Nigeria. The next one will be done in 2025 (due to the covid-19 pandemic, some states was unable to conduct their book review, possibilities exist that they might conduct theirs next year.)
AS A BOOK AUTHOR OR PUBLISHER, ENSURE TO SUBMIT QUALITY BOOKS/MATERIALS
