Following the Covid-19 economic disruption, the focus of this year’s intervention is on the economic recovery of SMEs and young African entrepreneurs.
The Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Programme will enable 5,000 young African entrepreneurs, chosen from the 2021 cohort, to meet the particular difficulties posed by the pandemic, lift millions out of poverty, and create long-term employment across the continent. In 2022, in conjunction with global partners, the Foundation will accept applications to an additional 406,400 young entrepreneurs.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation is a European Union partner working to empower African men and women.
Through the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme, the Tony Elumelu Foundation, which will mark ten years of impact in 2020, is empowering a new generation of African entrepreneurs. Successful applicants will receive world-class business training, mentoring, non-refundable startup cash up to $5,000, and international networking possibilities. The program is open to all African entrepreneurs, both fresh start-ups and established young firms, in any field.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation’s $100 million Entrepreneurship Program, which began in 2015 with the goal of empowering 10,000 entrepreneurs over ten years, is presently in its seventh year and has impacted over 9,000 young African entrepreneurs from 54 countries.
